Between 1994 and 2014, Judy trained over 2,200 nurses internationally to serve as breast health navigators coordinating the clinical, educational and support needs of patients. She has consulted with some of the nation's leading hospitals to develop comprehensive breast health programs.
Judy is the author of the Breast Cancer Treatment Handbook, a patient's guide through the breast cancer experience, the Breast Cancer Support Partner Handbook, a book for their support partners and the Breast Cancer Survivorship Handbook, a patient's guide to thriving in survivorship and Sexuality After Cancer Treatment, written to help cancer patients restore their sexuality. These books have been critically acclaimed by the Journal of the National Cancer Institute as being an essential need for those supporting a recently diagnosed patient. She is also the author of numerous other books and brochures on benign and cancerous breast conditions, and is the creator of the COPE Library (Cancer Online Patient Education), featuring over 600 patient teaching sheets on breast health for clinics, hospitals and physicians offices.
Judy has written over 40 national articles on breast health management and psychosocial support of patients. She served as Secretary, and was on the Advisory Board, for the National Consortium of Breast Centers. She presently serves as a member of the American College of Surgeons' National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) and as an advisor to the Department of Defense National Clinical Breast Care Project headquartered at Walter Reed Medical Center. Charleston Southern University awarded Judy an honorary Doctorate of Science Degree in May 2007.
